Gold Seal-SAARGUMMI India Private Limited is bestowed with the ‘Make In India Awards for Excellence – 2015’ under Auto Component Category. The award has been initiated to promote the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet project Make In India, and given to leading companies who excel in their respective fields.
Davinder Singh, responsible for Business development and Marketing, received the award from the Union Minister for MSME, Kaliraj Mishra and Ex. Indian Hockey Team Captain Dhanraj Pillai.
Organised by Mahatma Mandir the event was graced by Kalraj Mishra as chief guest and Govindbhai Patel, Minister of State for Science and Technology as the guest of honour. Attended by the top CEOs of companies and other key decision makers of the leading Indian and MNCs the evet saw 45 companies getting award in different categories.
Addressing the gathering Mishra said, “We all have this dream – to see our incredible India as a leading world economy. In order to materialise this dream, it’s imperative to promote the manufacturing sector. Without doubt industrialists like you are playing a significant role in shaping the destiny of India. Your role is highly commendable. As a whole, we need to execute policies, wherein employment generation can be spurred. It’s directly related to socio-economic development of the nation, leading towards the surge in GDP. It’s a significant contributor in the ‘Make In India’ initiative. And that’s what our honorable Prime Minister has envisioned.”
Founded by H.E. Aga in 1958 along with his wife, Daulet H. Aga, the Gold Seal Group now comprises of three joint entities. They are Gold Seal Engg Products Private Limited, a 100 percent Aga family-owned company having plants in Mumbai and Daman; Gold Seal – SAARGUMMI India, a 49:51 joint venture of Gold Seal Engg Products and SAARGUMMI of Germany.
Gold Seal –SAARGUMMI India, the company that won the ‘Make In India’ award, makes EPDM rubber-extruded sealings and weatherstrip profiles for passenger cars, SUVs, MPVs, LCVs and tractors.
The third company of the group – Gold Seal Avon Polymers, is a 45:55 joint venture of Gold Seal Engg Products and Avon Automotive of the US, now owned by MGI Coutier of France, to manufacture EPDM rubber radiator hoses.
Gold Seal group is continuously focusing on enhancing quality and long ago it realized that to achieve this technology up gradation is the key. According to the promoters of the group, there is no dearth of technology at Gold Seal as of now, and in future it is committed to keep itself updated. The award is the testimony to the efforts taken to keep itself abreast of the global technological trends, they said.
