Mercedes-Benz opens new body and paint workshop in Chennai, India

Mercedes-Benz has opened a state-of-the-art body and paint workshop in 34,820 sqft space at Ambattur Industrial Estate, in Chennai, India with an investment of Rs 24 million. The facility is equipped with 21 bays (including floor bays, Paint booth, Prep Bays, Cellette, Aluminum, FI, Assembly Bay, WA, Washing and mopping bays). Staffed with 22 trained professionals, the workshop can service up to 2100 cars in a year and is capable of servicing all Mercedes-Benz models, the company said.

As a customer-centric brand, servicing is a pivotal element in our strategy, as luxury car owners expect delightful and hassle-free ownership experience. With our robust network in the country and continuous expansion, we assure all our patrons supreme quality and world-renowned service excellence by Mercedes- Benz,” said Santosh Iyer, VP – Aftersales, Mercedes-Benz India.

Abdul Qadir, Managing Director, Trans Car India said: “South India has emerged as a fast-growing luxury car market and Chennai contributes significantly to Mercedes-Benz India’s overall sales. With the inauguration of our latest facility, we aim to fulfil rising customer requirements and enhance our after- sales competencies. Our new facility is equipped with the latest technology and highly trained manpower,”.
