The year 2017 was the successful business year for Daimler. To mark this achievement, the company has given away highest profit-sharing bonus in its history. Board of Management and General Works Council decided to pay entitled tariff-scale employees a bonus up to 5,700 euros. The bonus applies to roughly 130,000 entitled tariff-scale employees in Germany, who will receive it with their April pay.
“Our employees contributed substantially to make 2017 the most successful year of Daimler’s company history so far. We want to honour this outstanding performance with a profit-sharing bonus and thank our colleagues for their relentless dedication. The bonus shows that we adequately share the company’s success with our employees. Together we achieved a lot: from more than two million produced vehicles at Mercedes-Benz Cars, record sales at Mercedes-Benz Vans to innovative transport solutions at Mercedes-Benz Trucks and long-term future scenarios for our German locations”, said Wilfried Porth, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG.
Michael Brecht, Chairman of the General Works Council at Daimler AG, said: “The workforce achieved a lot in the past year. Our colleagues are the key to the company’s success. With the record profit-share, the employees will be adequately honoured.”
A profit-sharing scheme for tariff-scale employees has been established at Daimler in 1997. Calculation of the profit-sharing bonus at Daimler is regulated under the terms of an agreement with the General Works Council.
