More than 10,000 women across 12 cities in India took the #HelmetOnLifeOn pledge as part of the road safety awareness programme by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018. Over 18 million new two-wheelers are coming on Indian roads every year. Making the journey for women safer on roads, Honda is spreading awareness on the importance of wearing the helmet as a pillion or rider on road with its #HelmetOnLifeOn initiative.
“Honda 2Wheelers India has taken the #HelmetOnLifeOn campaign to over 10,000 women across India. We are humbled by the response pouring in from across India, be it cities like Jalandhar, Hyderabad, Cuttack or even Karnal. Additionally, over one lakh females are now trained two-wheeler riders through the special Free of Cost Dream Riding initiative at Honda’s 13 traffic parks across India,” said Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.
Honda has educated more than 17 lakh Indians on road safety. The company has adopted a total of 13 traffic parks in Delhi (2), Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola (Nashik), Hyderabad, Indore, Ludhiana, Coimbatore, Karnal and Thane.
