Apollo Tyres Chief Advisor R&D P K Mohamed has won the ‘Outstanding Industrial Partner’ award instituted by the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IIUCNN) of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. The award was presented by the Vice-Chancellor of MG university Dr Babu Sebastian during the International Conference on Nanomaterials: Synthesis, characterization and application (ICN 2018) held in Kottayam from May 11-13, 2018. Renowned scientist and Bharatratna Dr CNR Rao and pro-vice chancellor Dr Sabu Thomas and Dr Nandakumar, Hon. Director, International and Inter-University Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology were also present at the function.
PK Mohamed is closely associated with Nanoscience and Nanotechnology center of MG University on several projects including one in the area of industrialization of Nanostructured and nanoparticle materials in tyres for enhancing performance and support to sustainability efforts. The Outstanding industrial partner award is conferred on him during ICN 2018, for his unparalleled contribution in Industry –Institute partnership work with the MG University.
The ICN 2018 was organised by the university in collaboration with Department of International exchanges and cooperation, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China and Gdansk University of Technology, Department of Polymer Technology, Poland.
