Visteon India plant gets Shingo Silver Medallion

Visteon Electronics India (VEI) plant in Chennai has been awarded a Silver Medallion by the Shingo Institute, recognising employees’ commitment to operational excellence. Shingo examiners awarded the Medallion based on high ratings in the cultural enablers and continuous improvement dimensions of the Shingo model.

VEI’s team of 350 employees manufacture and supply SmartCore cockpit domain controllers, infotainment systems, instrument clusters and display audio to leading vehicle manufacturers in India, including Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, Ford, Volkswagen and Honda two wheelers.

The high level of employee engagement and energy shown in identifying and implementing improvement ideas is a best practice that organizations around the world can benchmark. The current level of employee engagement in meeting continuous improvement expectations is very impressive.
“This award signifies the hard work and dedication the entire team has put in to improve operational excellence and continuous improvement in the entire value chain over the last two years. This effort has resulted in significantly improved customer satisfaction and excellent results” said plant director, Barkathulla Khan.

The Shingo awards ceremony and gala will be part of the organization’s 31st International Conference on April 29-May 2, 2019, in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
